Located in Suitland, Maryland, the Naval Ice Center (NAVICE) is a subordinate command of the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) and is also a part of the National Ice Center.
The National Ice Center is a tri-agency operational center represented by the U.S. Navy, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the United States Coast Guard (USCG).
The National Ice Center mission is to provide worldwide operational ice analyses for the armed forces of the United States and allied nations, and U.S. government agencies.
The NAVICE commanding officer also serves as director of the National Ice Center.
